World of Hyatt and MGM Rewards Update

World of Hyatt and MGM Rewards will be ending their strategic relationship effective September 30, 2023.

What does this change mean for guests and members?

Reservations:

Existing Reservations
- For stays with checkout prior to or on September 30, 2023: Eligible paid and award stays at MGM Rewards destinations will be honored and benefits will be earned.
- For stays with a checkout date after September 30, 2023: The stay will be honored as booked, but World of Hyatt members will no longer be able to earn World of Hyatt points and World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Nights at MGM Resorts.
New Reservations
- For stays with a checkout prior to or on September 30, 2023: Reservations will enjoy the Hyatt and MGM relationship benefits.
- For stays with a checkout date after September 30, 2023: Reservations will not be accepted via Hyatt booking channels for stays at MGM Rewards destinations.
Reservation Modifications or Cancellations
- For stays with a checkout date after September 30, 2023: Contact the Hyatt Global Care Center at 800.233.1234 to help you modify or cancel an existing reservation made through Hyatt for stays at MGM Rewards destinations. New rates may apply (and certain benefits may no longer be available and/or earned) when making a modification to an existing reservation.

World of Hyatt Program and Benefits:

While tier matching into MGM Rewards is ending July 14, 2023; rest assured any existing matched status will remain in place through the date that status expires. See FAQs for additional details.
For any stays with a checkout date after September 30, 2023, World of Hyatt members will no longer be able to earn and redeem World of Hyatt points at any MGM Rewards destinations, earn World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Nights or other benefits for stays at MGM Rewards destinations.
For any stays with a checkout date after September 30, 2023, MGM Rewards members can no longer elect to earn MGM Rewards Tier Credits in lieu of World of Hyatt Base Points for qualifying nights at Hyatt hotels.
For any stays with a checkout date after September 30, 2023, World of Hyatt Credit Cardmembers will no longer be eligible to earn four (4) World of Hyatt Bonus Points per $1 spent at participating MGM destinations through the use of the World of Hyatt credit card.

1. Why are MGM Resorts and Hyatt no longer offering reciprocal relationship benefits?
After careful consideration, MGM Resorts and World of Hyatt have decided to end their strategic relationship effective September 30, 2023.

Booking Future Stays at MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas

2. Can I make a new reservation for stays at MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas?
New reservations at participating MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas with checkout dates prior to or on September 30, 2023 can still be made on Hyatt channels (e.g., hyatt.com, Hyatt Global Care Center, or the World of Hyatt mobile application), and these reservations will enjoy the benefits of the strategic relationship between World of Hyatt and MGM Rewards.

Effective September 30, 2023, World of Hyatt members will no longer be able to make new reservations at participating MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas through Hyatt channels and MGM Rewards members will not be able to add their World of Hyatt number to stays.

Impact to Stays at MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas

3. When will I stop earning World of Hyatt points and World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credit for my stays at MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas?
All existing reservations at MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas booked through Hyatt channels (e.g., hyatt.com, Hyatt Global Care Center, or the World of Hyatt mobile application) prior to September 30, 2023 will be honored. Eligible stays with checkout dates prior to or on September 30, 2023 can earn World of Hyatt points and World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits. However, for stays with checkouts after September 30, 2023, World of Hyatt members will no longer be eligible to earn World of Hyatt points or World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Nights.

Note, MGM Rewards members can still earn MGM Rewards Points and MGM Rewards Tier Credits for all eligible spend charged back to the folio in connection with such stays. Please ensure your MGM Rewards number is added to the hotel folio at check-in.

4. When will I no longer be able to redeem World of Hyatt points for my stays at MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas?
All existing Award Night and Points + Cash redemption reservations at MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas booked through Hyatt channels prior to September 30, 2023 will be honored. However, as of September 30, 2023 World of Hyatt members will no longer be able to redeem World of Hyatt points for stays at MGM Resorts destinations, nor be eligible to earn World of Hyatt points or World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Nights for such stays where checkout is after September 30, 2023.

Note, MGM Rewards members can still earn MGM Rewards Points and MGM Rewards Tier Credits for all eligible spend charged back to the folio in connection with such stays. Please ensure your MGM Rewards number is added to the hotel folio at check-in.

5. Will I earn World of Hyatt points if I have an upcoming stay at an MGM Resorts destination in Las Vegas that starts before the relationship ends, but ends after September 30, 2023?
Effective September 30, 2023, World of Hyatt members will no longer be eligible to earn World of Hyatt points or World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Nights for such stays at MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas where checkout is after September 30, 2023.

Therefore, stays at MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas that check out after September 30, 2023, will no longer be eligible to earn World of Hyatt points or World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Nights for any portion of your stay.

6. Will my resort fees be waived if I tier matched into MGM Rewards Gold?

World of Hyatt members who tier matched into MGM Rewards between February 1, 2023 and July 14, 2023, will receive their tier match status through January 31, 2024.
MGM Rewards Gold members who achieved their Tier Status through the tier match benefit between February 1, 2023 and July 14, 2023 will have their resort fees waived for direct bookings made through MGM Resorts through January 31, 2024.

7. What if I need to make changes to an upcoming reservation at an MGM Resorts destination in Las Vegas that I booked through Hyatt channels?

Modifications:
- Any modifications for upcoming reservations booked through Hyatt channels (e.g., hyatt.com, Hyatt Global Care Center, or the World of Hyatt mobile application) for stays where checkout is prior to or on September 30, 2023 should be made by contacting the Hyatt Global Care Center at 800.233.1234. Stays associated with such modified reservations are still eligible for the applicable benefits.
- Any modifications for upcoming reservations booked through Hyatt channels (e.g., hyatt.com, Hyatt Global Care Center, or the World of Hyatt mobile application) for stays where checkout is after September 30, 2023 will require the reservation to be canceled with Hyatt and rebooked directly with MGM Resorts. Cancellations should be made by contacting the Hyatt Global Care Center at 800.233.1234 and then rebooked by calling the MGM Resorts Call Center at 866.761.7111. New rates may apply.

9. When will I stop earning MGM Rewards Tier Credits for my stays at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts?
All existing reservations at Hyatt hotels and resorts booked through Hyatt channels (e.g., hyatt.com, Hyatt Global Care Center, or the World of Hyatt mobile application) prior to or on September 30, 2023, will be honored.

For checkouts after September 30, 2023, MGM Rewards members will no longer be eligible to elect to earn MGM Rewards Tier Credits.

10. Will I earn MGM Rewards Tier Credits if I have an upcoming stay at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts that starts before the relationship ends, but ends after September 30, 2023?
Effective September 30, 2023, MGM Rewards members will no longer be eligible to elect to earn MGM Rewards Tier Credits for such stays at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts where checkout is after September 30, 2023.

Therefore, stays at Hyatt hotels and resorts that check out after September 30, 2023, will no longer be eligible to earn MGM Rewards Tier Credits.

11. How long will I be able to receive MGM Rewards Tier Credits for past stays at Hyatt hotels and resorts?

Impact to Tier Matching

12. Will MGM Rewards honor its Tier Match program with World of Hyatt?
Yes, MGM Rewards will honor its Tier Match program with World of Hyatt for all tier matches made prior to July 14, 2023. World of Hyatt members who have tier matched between February 1, 2023 and July 14, 2023 will retain their MGM Rewards tier match status through January 31, 2024. After January 31, 2024, World of Hyatt members must achieve or maintain the applicable MGM Rewards tier in accordance with the MGM Rewards program terms to be entitled to any such related benefits.

13. Will World of Hyatt honor its Tier Match program with MGM Rewards?
Yes, World of Hyatt will honor its Tier Match program with MGM Rewards for all tier matches made prior to July 14, 2023. MGM Rewards members who have tier matched between March 1, 2023 and July 14, 2023 will retain their World of Hyatt tier status through February 29, 2024. After February 29, 2024, MGM Rewards members must achieve or maintain the applicable World of Hyatt tier in accordance with the World of Hyatt program terms to be entitled to any such related benefits.
