These Courtesy Card Terms and Conditions (“Courtesy Card Terms”) set forth the benefits available to World of Hyatt Members who are granted Courtesy Card status in the World of Hyatt program by Hyatt (“Courtesy Card”). All participation in the World of Hyatt program (“Program”) is subject to the complete World of Hyatt Terms and Conditions (“Program Terms”), which are incorporated into these Courtesy Card Terms and are available atwww.worldofhyatt.com/terms. To the extent that there is any conflict between these Courtesy Card Terms and the Program Terms, the Program Terms will govern unless these Courtesy Card Terms expressly state otherwise. All capitalized terms that are used, but not defined, in these Courtesy Card Terms have the meaning ascribed to them in the Program Terms.
I. Invitation Only; Annual Reconsideration. Courtesy Card is an additional tier of elite status available to select Members only by invitation from Hyatt in its sole discretion. Members who receive Courtesy Card status in accordance with these Courtesy Card Terms are referred to herein as “Courtesy Card Members.” When a Member is granted Courtesy Card status, his or her Courtesy Card status will begin when granted that status and continue through the expiration date displayed on the Courtesy Card provided to such Member and/or displayed when the Member logs into his or her account. Courtesy Card status is reviewed annually by Hyatt, unless Hyatt (in its sole discretion) grants a Courtesy Card Member a longer term. Invitation to Courtesy Card status in one year does not mean that a Member will be invited in any future year.
II. General Status Benefits. All Courtesy Card Members receive the following benefits:
(a) Bonus Points: When choosing points for a stay, Courtesy Card Members will receive a thirty percent (30%) point bonus on the Base Points earned on the Eligible Rate and Eligible Incidental Charges incurred during such stay. When earning points on Eligible Non-Stay Charges incurred at participating outlets, Courtesy Card Members will receive a thirty percent (30%) point bonus on such Eligible Non-Stay Charges. These point bonuses are awarded as Bonus Points, not Base Points. Bonus Points do not count towards the Member’s elite status qualification. Point bonus is available for stays at all Hyatt hotels and resorts.
(b) Gifting Explorist Status: Courtesy Card Members may elect to gift Explorist status in the World of Hyatt program to one (1) other Member per Calendar Year. Courtesy Card Members may utilize this benefit by contacting Hyatt’s central reservation service. (Please see hyatt.com for contact information.)
(c) 24-Hour Room Availability (Restrictions and Blackout Dates Apply): Courtesy Card Members will be guaranteed a room at Hyatt hotels or resorts (subject to the exclusions detailed below) for their own personal use when making a paid reservation directly with Hyatt at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to arrival (local time for the applicable hotel) that is guaranteed with a valid credit card. All reservations are subject to hotel policies. This guarantee is only applicable when the hotel or resort is otherwise entirely sold out (including all suites), is valid for one (1) standard guest room, and is subject to the applicable hotel’s or resort’s reservation requirements (e.g., minimum length of stay, special packages and meal plans). Rooms secured under this provision are only available at the Standard Rate. Negotiated rates or other group, promotional, or discounted rates do not apply and Free Night Awards may not be redeemed for a room secured pursuant to this benefit. This guarantee is not valid during any period of extraordinary room demand and is subject to blackout periods set out by each hotel or resort. Contracted last-room-available rates do not apply to rooms secured under this provision. Guaranteed availability for Courtesy Card Members is not valid at Hyatt Residence Club resorts.
(d) Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards:
(i) Receiving Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards. Upon being granted Courtesy Card status, Courtesy Card Members will receive four (4) complimentary Room Upgrade Awards for suite accommodations (“Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards”). In no event will a Member receive more than four (4) Courtesy Card Suite Awards in any Calendar Year, regardless of the number of Tier-Qualifying Nights stayed or Base Points earned by such Member. In addition, Courtesy Card Members are not eligible to earn Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards (as described in Appendix B of the Program Terms.
(ii) Redeeming Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards. Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards issued prior to January 1, 2018 are valid for one (1) year from the date of issuance For Courtesy Card members who are entitled to Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards after January 1, 2018, the Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards are valid through the end of the year they were gifted plus 14 months. The awards are valid in connection with reservations with a checkout date by the expiration of the award. Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards can be tracked through the “My Awards” section of the Member’s account. A Member must redeem a Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Award when making the underlying reservation. Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards are not valid at any of the Suite Award Ineligible Properties (as defined in Appendix B of the Program Terms) or Hyatt Residence Club hotels or resorts. Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards are redeemable only at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts that offer suite accommodations (subject to the exclusions set forth below). For purposes of this award, a suite provides for one-bedroom accommodations. Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards are only valid for Standard Suites, defined as each participating hotel’s or resort’s introductory suite category, and are subject to availability. There are a limited number of Standard Suites available at each hotel and resort. Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards cannot be redeemed for any suite type other than Standard Suites, including Premium Suites, any Specialty, Premier, Presidential or Diplomatic Suites, or similar suite categories, each as designated by the applicable hotel or resort. Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards are redeemable only where the designated suite to be reserved is available for the entire length of the Member’s stay. Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards are valid on nights for which the Courtesy Card Member has paid an Eligible Rate or has redeemed points for a standard-room Free Night Award, a Club Free Night Award, or a standard-room Points + Cash Award, up to a maximum of seven (7) consecutive nights. Not valid in connection with any Free Night Award other than those identified above, including, without limitation, Hyatt-branded Credit Card premium and anniversary Free Night Awards, 5-brand Free Night Awards, Category 1-7 Free Night Awards, or any other promotional Free Night Award. Courtesy Card Suite Upgrade Awards are not redeemable in connection with hotels or resorts that have not yet opened when the Member makes his/her reservation, even if reservations for such hotel or resort are otherwise being accepted.
(e) Special Reservation Phone Line: Courtesy Card Members have access to a Hyatt reservation telephone line exclusively for use by Courtesy Card Members. Courtesy Card Members who complete 60 Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn 100,000 Base Points in a Calendar Year will also have access to a dedicated agent, the My Hyatt Concierge. Courtesy Card Members can find contact information for the dedicated reservation line by logging into their account. Courtesy Card Members who are assigned a My Hyatt Concierge will be provided his or her contact information by Hyatt.
(f) Additional Benefits: Courtesy Card Members also receive the following additional benefits.
(i) As described in the “Globalist Status” section of Appendix C to the Program Terms, available at www.worldofhyatt.com/terms:
- Waived resort or facility fees when paying an Eligible Rate
- Guest of Honor benefits when gifting an eligible award. (Recipient will receive the In-hotel Benefits provided to Members with Globalist status.)
(ii) As described in the “Explorist Status” section of Appendix C to the Program Terms:
- Relaxed cancellation policy
(iii) All benefits provided to Globalists in connection with Participating Exhale Locations, as described in the Exhale Terms available at worldofhyatt.com/exhale.
(g) Limitations on Earning Some Milestone Rewards. A Courtesy Card Member may generally earn the Milestone Rewards described in Section IV of Appendix B, provided that – regardless of the number of Tier-Qualifying Nights stayed or Base Points earned by such Member – no Courtesy Card Member is eligible to earn any Club Lounge Access Award provided to other Members after completing 20 and 30 Tier-Qualifying Nights or earning 35,000 Base Points and 50,000 Base Points or the Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards (each term as defined in Appendix B) provided to other Members after completing 50 and 60 Tier-Qualifying Nights or earning 80,000 and 100,000 Base Points in a Calendar Year.
III. In-hotel Benefits for Eligible Rates & Award Stays. The “In-hotel Benefits” below are provided by the applicable hotel or resort during a Member’s stay only where, for the applicable night, the Courtesy Card Member (i) has paid an Eligible Rate or (ii) has redeemed a Free Night Award, Room Upgrade Award, or Points + Cash Award. In the event that a Courtesy Card Member is staying under an Ineligible Rate (other than as part of redeeming a Free Night Award), (s)he will not be provided any In-hotel Benefits for that stay.
(a) Best Room Available: Courtesy Card Members will receive the best room available at the time of check-in at Hyatt hotels and resorts, including suites and rooms with Club lounge access. The best room available will be determined by the applicable hotel or resort in its sole discretion. The “best room” may, but will not necessarily be, of a room type/category higher than that booked by the Member. Not valid at Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, or Hyatt Residence Club hotels and resorts.
(b) Priority Room Availability: Should a Courtesy Card Member attempt to check in to a Hyatt hotel or resort at which (s)he has a reservation and should no rooms of the category reserved by the Member be immediately available, the Member will be offered the first room of that category that becomes available. The Member may alternatively be offered the option to exercise his or her Best Room Available benefit, should an eligible room above the category reserved by the Member be available. (In the event that a hotel or resort finds it necessary to apply this benefit to more than one (1) Courtesy Card Member for the same room category on the same day, the Courtesy Card Members will be prioritized based on when the Courtesy Card Member requests to check-in.) This benefit is not available at Hyatt Residence Club resorts.
(c) Welcome Amenity: Courtesy Card Members receive a free food or beverage welcome amenity upon check-in at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts. The welcome amenity provided is determined by the applicable hotel or resort in its sole discretion. This benefit is not offered at Hyatt Residence Club resorts.
(d) Additional In-hotel Benefits: Courtesy Card Members will also receive the following additional In-hotel Benefits described in Appendix C to the Program Terms, available at www.worldofhyatt.com/terms.
As described in the “Globalist Status” section of Appendix C:
- Club lounge access
- 4:00 PM late checkout
- Free parking on Free Night Awards
As described in the “Discoverist Status” section of Appendix C:
- Dedicated check-in area
- Complimentary premium in-room internet access
- Daily bottled water
